Coillte Cyber Security video campaign<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Coillte needed to refresh its approach to cyber security awareness. Staff had already completed training programmes and were familiar with cyber security best practice, but repeated training exercises and simulated phishing tests had gradually become part of the background. The challenge was not education, but engagement.<\/p>

To re-energise the conversation, I developed a campaign inspired by retro video games, using pixel-art characters, environments and game-style scenarios to explore common cyber security risks. Employees were guided through a series of familiar workplace situations where decisions and actions led to different outcomes, making the consequences of cyber threats more immediate, memorable and relatable.<\/p>

Alongside the visual concept, I created the campaign call-to-action “CALL IT OUT”<\/strong>, encouraging staff to actively report suspicious activity and potential cyber security risks. The phrase became a recognisable part of the campaign and helped shift the focus from awareness alone to collective responsibility.<\/p>

The campaign launched as an animated video distributed to staff across the organisation and was supported by a broader visual system that extended into intranet banners, internal communications and training materials. By moving away from traditional awareness content and introducing a more engaging visual language, the campaign successfully generated renewed discussion around cyber security and encouraged greater engagement across the business.<\/p>

I developed the campaign concept, messaging, storyboard, illustrations and visual framework. The final animation was produced by an external animation partner under my creative direction.
